Welcome to the wonderful world of homemade soaps! I am so excited to be able to share my products with you. Homemade soaps have been around forever so I didn't invent anything new or discover a magical secret. Everyone that have used homemade soaps know how great they are.
There are many people that make homemade soaps. You can find them at craft shows or farmers' markets; they even sell these soaps at commercial places like Whole Foods. They come in all colors, designs, and scents.
I like to keep things simple. I aim to make the most natural product so you don't have to worry about chemicals and extra additives in my soaps. Because my soaps do not have hardening agents in them, they are not as hard as commercial soaps and do not last as long. I also don't have those fancy scents because I only use scents provided by the essential oils in my soaps. I do not use fragrance oil in my soaps because it is not a natural product, and it has no health benefits. I do use pigmented mica to color some of the soaps. The colorant is artificial, but its use is very minimal.
B&R soaps are also hand cut individually so its weight may vary slightly. Each full bar of soap is approximately 4 ounces; the half bars are approximately 2 ounces.
All carrier oils used in my soaps are plant based and not animal based. Some people do make homemade soaps with lard. Ewwww! I call my soaps natural, but they are not organic because not all the ingredients are certified organic. I'm ok with that because you're not ingesting the product.
So my soaps aren't perfectly square in shape like I intended or the surfaces aren't perfectly smooth. Eh, I kinda like that look. I think they call it "rustic" nowadays. They are, however, perfectly awesome :)
